My cohort Kline has had his tune “Late Night” up for free download on his soundcloud for 3 months now, and currently it’s sitting at about 50 downloads. It’s a stripped down tune with lots of depth and subtlety, pulsating rhythms, head-nodding drum sequencing and more than enough bassweight to go around.
But a few days ago, after having emailed the track into Skream & Benga, they played it on their new BBC Radio 1 show, and I expect to see that number rise. Kline & I also run Fortune & Glory – a semi-regular, golden-era hip hop night at Fortune Sound Club, the next of which will take place on Saturday May 26th.
