Vancouver’s own Calamalka offers up a new long-player this week via local label, Hybridity Music. The album is called All The Way Up, and features his signature wonky, dubbed-out take on hip hop & experimental funk, fused together to create a cohesive 11-track project. Though there are a few stand-out tracks that would fit well in an abstract DJ set, it’s the whole album that really shines as a finished product – for instance, “Babe” is a long time favorite which I’m happy to have in my DJ arsenal.
