the White Crow Freak Show – Halloween in the Kootenays

This Saturday I’ll be travelling back to the Kootenays to perform at the White Crow Freak Show, alongside Naasko, Bastet & B-Ron.  This party will be taking place in a haunted, uninhabited house near the south Slocan junction – if you haven’t been invited to the facebook event, send me an email and I’ll sort you out with directions.  I’m unquestionably excited to return to the Kootenays for another Halloween bash, as the White Crow party that we threw last year at the Castle Theatre with the same massive pK sound system that we’ll be using this year, was a real shaker.  This year they’ll also have a whole hog spit roast on the go, plus kegs & a liquor bar..

Bastet

Now for a little more info on the artists, Bastet is one rising artist whom I’m really looking forward to seeing play, especially considering her brand new mixtape, Spectrolite..

Naasko in the mix..

I’ve had the pleasure of playing alongside Naasko a few times, and he always brings the bassweight.  He & Craig Mullin have a collaborative project called the BC Dub Cats, check out their most recent mix, Make Dub Not War..

b-Ron in action..

b-Ron is a mainstay of the Kootenay bass music scene for some time now, bringing artists in from all over via his Area One Events venture.  He’s also a badass DJ who threw down with us at Shambhala this year, and in the club on the regular.  You can check out his beats on his MySpace page.

dj Dubconscious, gun fingers cocked..

Lastly, I’ll be throwing down a healthy mixture of bass music – most likely some weighty dubstep, juke hybrids, dancehall, bashment & jungle.  Check out my most recent mix for DubSelekta.com below.

The rough flow of the night will be Bastet, Naasko, Dubconscious, Byron, and then perhaps a closing set from Tiny Dancer, who will be tending to sound on the night.  So if you are in the Kootenays this weekend, don your wildest costume & join us for a twisted night of revelry.
