Sleepyhead – “Motions” EP & Vancouver show

Sleepyhead‘s new Motions EP is slated for a January 31st release via NYC bass music tycoons, Trouble & Bass, and has caught my ear in a big way – I’m feeling that underwater, future garage vibe pretty heavily these days.  My favorite cut is the second cut on the EP – a collaboration with Dunes entitled “On The Phone.”

Sleepyhead ft Ghostek – “LA Kicks”

XLR8R has posted up the third track from the EP, “Hi-Five,” up for free download, which you can grab here.  Sleepyhead is a budding producer out of Brooklyn, and is certainly someone to keep on your radar, with another forthcoming release later this year on Distal & Mite‘s Atlanta-based Embassy Recordings.  And he is also going to be passing through Vancouver in February!

The show will be brought to you by Self Evident, at the Astoria on Saturday February 18th, alongside Subcorr from Victoria, Taal Mala of Lighta Sound, El Mongoose of Glitchy & Scratchy, and HxdB – whose collaboration with Distal will be coming out on Tectonic soon (!) – check the preview below.  Click the poster above for full info on the show.

I’ll leave you off with one more tune from Sleepyhead, his re-juke edit of GoldFFinch‘s “Point of Entry,” which he offered up as a free download via his soundcloud last week.
