Max Ulis & Self Evident – “Eastsiders” EP

Last week, we got a preview of the long-awaited release of Max Ulis & Self Evident‘s collaboration, “Eastsiders,” which is due out later this year via Max & Lorne B’s Tenpin Records, alongside remixes from Cedaa, HxdB & Prison Garde.

The EP also includes original works from each of the Ulis brothers, including Self Evident’s “Numba One Stunna” & Max’s “Knowledge” – both of which can be heard towards the end of the preview clip above.  We’ve also a next fresh bit, just 4 days old, from Max to check – a ‘refreaking’ of a “Weirdo Beat” from Homebreakin‘s Audit out of Calgary.

Conveniently, you can catch both brothers playing at the Minotaur’s Lair this weekend – a new underground space for local visual artists to display their work, in the backdrop of a late night bass music show.  They’ve just recently built a 2nd-floor balcony overlooking the dancefloor in there, that acts a great perch to remove yourself from the madness for a minute to enjoy a drink & have a conversation.

This Friday, Vancouver-based artist Duncan MacCallum will display his works, Max will play a headlining set, and Self Evident will support alongside Gameboy – both members of the Wepa! crew – and Los Equis, who runs the newly relaunched blog Futurobeat.  In fact check this post from him for more info on the party, and click the flyer to check the event page.

Oh, and it looks like Ben just uploaded a new 2, presumably live 2 hour show for SubFM, mainly consisting of local material – check the soundcloud page for the tracklisting.
