Self Evident – “You Me Need” dancehall mix & Keefer set

Our good friend Ben Ulis, aka Self Evident, delivered a DJ mix last week chock full of the hottest new dancehall tracks mashing up dances around the world today.  No tracklisting provided, but I hear favorites of mine like “Dash Out” by Tifa, “Ravin” by Popcaan, Mavado‘s “Starboy,” & most notably for me – Montreal-based Poirier‘s remix of Busy Signal‘s “Cool Baby.”

I enjoyed it so much, in fact, that I decided to book him to play an all-vinyl  reggae, dub & dancehall night with me this Sunday November 25th at the Keefer Bar in Chinatown, Vancouver – check the event page here for more info.  I hold down a weekly residency there every Sunday where I am always winding down the weekend properly with a nice skankin’ vibe – and the bar staff hold it down alongside me with some of the most inventive craft cocktails in the city, not too mention the most unique ambience in Chinatown.
